He was formerly employed at Yahoo!, and co-founded WhatsApp, a mobile messaging application which was acquired by Meta (formerly Facebook) in February 2014 for US$19 billion, with Jan Koum. Acton left WhatsApp in September 2017 to start the Signal Foundation. According to Forbes (2020), Acton is the 836th-richest person in the world, with a net worth of $2.5 billion.

Jan Koum (Ukrainian: born February 24, 1976) is a Ukrainian American billionaire businessman and computer engineer. He is the co-founder and was the CEO of WhatsApp, a mobile messaging application which was acquired by Facebook, Inc. in February 2014 for US$19.3 billion. According to Forbes, He has an estimated net worth of US$10.7 billion as of January,2022 making him one of the richest people in the world.

In 2014, he entered the Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans at no 62, with an estimated net worth of $7.5 billion, the highest-ranked newcomer to the list that year. As of January 2022, his net worth was estimated at $10.7 billion making him one of the richest people in the world.

Both they left YAHOO company in 2007 and try to search new Job.

When Jan Koum used to go to the gym, he used to miss all the calls, being busy, he thought why not make an app that can tell the status of everyone like in a meeting or I am busy, then he made an app which He named it WhatsApp, in which there was no message feature, only you could check the status of your friends.

why don't we make a messages app?

In 2009, their is only one app for messaging name BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) is Running only Blackberry MobileIt is a big Idea to Make it is a Messaging appIn few days more than 2lakh+ download.
